The COVID-19 pandemic brought out the current situation of the public health workforce. It has been brought to notice that the current public health workforce is lagging in the appropriate integration of young professionals*. Despite there being a surplus resource of young professionals, they have not been linked to the system adequately (Wong et al, 2021).
Young professionals are essential to the workforce as they can provide a different perspective and increase diversity, in the meanwhile also supporting the workforce in terms of human resources. Regardless of the importance of the public health workforce in the global economy, there is a gap in the job prospects for young professionals. As they face challenges to attain jobs matching their skills and capability (Wong et al, 2021).
*Young professionals here are referred to students and early career professionals.

The public health workforce is unable to cope with the continuously changing needs of both current and future public health demands according to the WHO, the Association of Schools and Programs of Public Health (ASPPH) and the Association of Schools of Public Health in the European Region .
Public health programmes [ PHP] is defined as an individual that engage in public health service practice irrespective of location but more specifically on educational background, specialized by means of academic bachelor, master's in public health or doctorate.
The COVID‐ 19 pandemic has illustrated that no single nation is adequately prepared, exposing the gaps in the infrastructure of public health systems worldwide. These gaps endanger the success of PHPs to deliver public health functions, as they are not solely dependent on their competencies but based on both availability and conditions of their work. Employment outcomes (EOs) can help to define the profile of a PHP, for example, by including information about employment sector, job titles and place of work.

there are a few areas where the text could be improved.
1 The article could benefit from a stronger introduction that sets the context for the importance of the public health workforce. For example, you could mention the impact of public health on society and the economy, and why it's essential to have a strong and effective workforce.

2.An examination of the factors that influence the career choices and motivations of PHPs, such as salary, job security, and opportunities for professional development.
3.A review of existing initiatives or programs that aim to strengthen the public health workforce, such as fellowship programs, training grants, or mentorship schemes.
4 A discussion of the potential impact of EOs on PHPs' career trajectories and professional development.

In my opinion this points can also be added to youth to participate more in public health
1. Mentorship programs: Establishing mentorship programs that pair young professionals with experienced mentors can help address the lack of guidance and support.
Young professionals are a pillar of the public health workforce especially when it comes to the issues that were highlighted by the COVID-19 pandemic. They are able to foster a vibrancy by bridging the existing generation gaps which cultivates an adaptive work culture. Given the continuously changing nature of public health, meeting new threats, the presence of entry level public health workers in the workforce is advocated for innovation and preservation of existing good practices. One of the major advantages of their youth is in the ability of young professionals to use new technological devices and tools which are very important in most public health activities like contact tracing, telemedicine, and health data analysis. Young professionals tend to be more inclined towards working in an interdisciplinary environment. This is helpful in making the system less rigid and more ready to counter the emerging global health issues.
In spite of the beneficial role young professionals can play in this context, they face considerable hardship when trying to find a position that corresponds their skills and education. In the same time, the increasing young professional population does not find enough relevant positions for themselves. This suggests that the adaptation of new young talents into the system is riddled with structural problems. These people are often encumbered by factors such as insufficient guidance, precarity, and limited entry level jobs that offer upward mobility.
