March 18-20, 2026 – At the ASPPH Annual Meeting for Academic Public Health held at the Crystal Gateway Marriott in Arlington, Virginia, Dr. Ashish Joshi, UofM SPH Dean and Distinguished Professor, presented on the “Public Health Diplomacy: Advancing Global Health Through Collaboration and Leadership” along with Dr. Josep Figueras, Director Emeritus of the European Observatory on Health Systems and Policies, Ambassador for the European Health Union Fellowships Program; Dr. Erica Kastrup, Cooperation Advisor, Researcher at the CRIS Center for International Relations in Health of the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation, ALASAG; and moderator Dr. Rodrigo Reis, Assistant Vice-Provost and Director, Office of Public Health, Washington University, ASPPH.
Dean Joshi also had the opportunity to share the update on the work of the ASPPH AI Taskforce, along with esteemed colleagues Kerry Mitchell, Associate Professor of Environmental Health, St. George’s University; John Auerbach, Senior Vice President for Public Health at ICF; Courtney M. Queen, Ph.D., Associate Dean for Strategic Partnerships and Associate Professor at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center; Umair A Shah, MD, MPH, CMO at Phamily, and Founder and CEO of Rickshaw Enterprises; Andrew Wiss, Assistant Dean for Academic Innovation, Milken Institute School of Public Health at The George Washington University; and Dr. Abdul R Shaikh, Global Leader for Digital Health, at Amazon Web Services.
