What is ‘SMAART’?

How does ‘SMAART’ work?

More on ‘SMAART’

SMAART is a human-centric & impact-driven solution with the goal of enhancing the health & well-being of diverse communities across the globe.

The SMAART Model is a framework created to solve real problems with real solutions.

This dynamic & flexible approach has been implemented across sectors & circumstances – and will continue to grow and change the lives of many.

SMAART employs a “middle-out” approach.

This approach is a bridge between a “top-down” and “bottom-up” approach.

It allows for data-driven & evidence-based policies to be made based on community participation and engagement. Community involvement is crucial to the SMAART Model.

Identifies communities in need of support & change, and seeks out challenging environments in poor and urban settings.

Engages diverse stakeholders within the community and takes stock of existing organizations, programs and policies that are currently providing solutions to the community.

Identifies ‘Community Change Agents’, the individuals from within the community who are committed to contributing to the SMAART interventions that will enhance the good health and well-being of people in their community.

Gains insight by investing time in the field on what the community needs are and collects useful data to inform their SMAART interventions.

Studies the gathered data & observations from the field and uses to determine what interventions would benefit the community. The interventions are carefully created in a way that promises effectiveness & sustainability.

Visits communities regularly to collect feedback and data, once the SMAART interventions are up-and-running, and makes necessary changes, if any, to ensure success.
